The Documented Life Project, Week 40

IMG_7627 This week’s challenge was to use 3 colors I never use. I was stumped at first, because I just don’t have any colors that I don’t use in one manner or another.

Then it hit me… I have new pearlescent inks that I’ve never used…score! So the colors I chose to use for this challenge were Waterfall Green – Moon Violet – Hot Mama Red, a combination I’ve never used but really like and will surely use again. I added in some rub-ons, bits of happy mail and misc embellies that I had in my stash.

Thanks for looking.

A little about Daler-Rowney FW Pearlescent Liquid Acrylic Inks

These are gorgeous, highly pigmented colors that dry to a shimmery pearlescent finish. They’re water soluble when wet but once dry they’re water resistant and virtually permanent, at least in my experience and they work great on various substrates such as paper, wood, leather and even glass. They mix well, for making your own custom colors and can be used to make fantastic sprays by adding a couple of droppers of ink to a mister bottle and adding water. I find them to be perfect for mixed media projects.

Your pages are lovely. Those colours are yummy together so I think you’ve found a great palette. Ink is my primary medium as an artist so I am going to add these to my wish list. Thanks for the information about them.

Gorgeous pages! I like metallic paints, so I bet I would like these pearlescent acrylics. I struggled with this week a bit too, but I’m still behind in posting my pages! Just posted Week 35.
