Keeping with January’s theme, The Blank Page and How to Face It, this week’s DLP art challenge was to work with gesso so I decided to do a gesso resist using Dylusions Spray.
I started by sponging on a layer gesso over a couple of different stencils onto my pages. I used Mosaic Swirl and Swirly Garden.
Once the gesso was dry, I sprayed my pages with Dylusions in Vibrant Turquoise, Bubblegum Pink and Fresh Lime.
The gesso resists most of the spray, allowing the stenciled design to come through.
I stamped a border using Dylusions stamps and some doodles, and did a bit of random stamping to add a bit more layering.
I stamped Collaged Hearts, by Dina Wakley, onto book paper, cut them out and adhered them with gel medium.
I also added a few pieces of gelli plate transfer tape that I’d previously made.
I’m still trying to find a good routine to help keep track of all my artistic endeavors this year and I’m not quite there yet, so I spaced it and forgot that DLP is now also giving us journal prompts. I added a quote that came as part of the stamp set… oh well 🙂
Thanks for looking!
